The Eight Limbs of Yoga

The Yamas – how we treat the world around us.

Ahimsa: Non Violence

Includes treating the environment, other living beings and of course ourselves with awareness ,respect and love. Ahimsa should be understand not only at physical level, but on mental as well. Most of us tempt to judge ourselves on a daily basis. Questions like why I did that or don’t or say or not say, etc., and blaming are arising in our minds. Moreover we are transferring this attitude to other people, which most of the times are our loved ones. It is not coincidence, that Ahimsa is the first from the Yamas. Before everything else, it is important to have good relationship with ourselves, based on love, compassion, patience and to spread that towards other people, especially our family, friends and partners.
